Research Partnership in Climate Change and Sustainable Forest Management

Climate change is one of the most important threats to the capacity of forest landscapes to provide ecological, economic and social services in the Asia-Pacific region. However, the potential of forests to mitigate climate change also represents a major opportunity. Led by Dr. John Innes, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, several faculty members have been working with the State Forestry Administration (SFA), Chinese Academy of Forestry and forest universities in China to develop Chinese National Sustainable Forest Management Systems, and provide a high-resolution climate model for China. For more information about the program, please contact Guangyu Wang at guangyu.wang@ubc.ca.
