Research Collaborations in Asia
- Professor Ken Elwood has developed an international research agreement between UBC Faculty of Applied Science and the Building Research Institute of Japan, signed August 2012. This agreement defines collaborative research projects related to the seismic performance of concrete buildings.
- Professor Ken Elwood is an international collaborator on a trilateral research project on the collapse of reinforced concrete frames in Taiwan.
- Professor Ken Elwood participated in a joint project with University of Auckland and University of Adelaide (Australia) on the influence of diaphragm flexibility on the seismic performance of unreinforced masonry buildings. He is an international collaborator on a project at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand) which uses data collected after the Christchurch earthquake to improve numerical modeling and seismic design procedures for concrete buildings.
