Donors have continued to support UBC, including major contributions from Hong Kong, China and Japan to name a few. The UBC Hong Kong Foundation received nearly $2.5 million dollars in support of UBC in 2010 and millions more were directly donated to UBC.

Last year, UBC welcomed over 4000 undergraduate and graduate students to both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses from 29 Asia Pacific countries. APRO’s recruitment initiatives in Asia included 40 high school visits, three PhD fairs, and presentations to students in targeted feeder programs at universities throughout the region. APRO celebrated five years of successful operations in Hong Kong in 2010 by awarding five entrance scholarships and relaunching its website. Its anniversary and achievements were highlighted in several local Hong Kong publications, including the InvestHK newsletter.
